Specyal T Joins Blackstream Record's Roster!

 

 Blackstream Records are pleased to announce the addition of former Interscope / Universal recording artist Specyal T to our roster. The multi-talented artist and producer is often compared to a young Lauryn Hill, while maintaining a unique individual style reminiscent of Missy Elliot. Hailing from Toronto, Ontario, Specyal T has collaborated with some of Canada’s top urban talent and has been voted the city’s best female hip hop artist by Toronto Exclusive Magazine.

Her last album Dose Of Distinction (2010) reached #11 on the UK Hip Hop / R&B album charts in its first week of release

Stay tuned for the December 2013 release date of her first single, “Almost Lover”. Her next album, Dose of Distinction 2 drops early in 2014!

I am honored to have been nominated as a role model and ambassador. It definitely feels good to know as an artist and as an individual in general that you are leading a good example and people wanna celebrate that. A New Appreciation Of Life!

I know it's been a minute since I last updated this blog. I became pregnant last year in November and by Christmas I was really really sick. I was in and out of hospital battling Hyperemesis a condition that affects only 1-2% of pregnant women but with it comes extreme nausea and vomiting (which I did every day for the better part of 10 months) and also dehydration. Although it was pretty rough there for a bit, I made it through and was able to give birth to my beautiful baby girl who is now 5 weeks old. Being in love with her is an understatement and I have such a new found respect and appreciation for just life in general having gone through all that. Her strength is what helped to get me through. <3

Today is my dad's birthday. 27 years ago (coming up in February) he took a chance and adopted me so today I wanted to thank him in song as it is a milestone birthday for him today as well. There will never be enough words to thank him for all that he's done for me but this is a start. Happy Cake Day Dad! *hugs*

"Go Tell Them" Radio Promotion

Catherine Marie has recently teamed up with a label from Alberta to promote her new single "Go Tell Them (Groove To This)" to commercial radio! Both camps are very excited as we both feel this single has a lot of potential in the mainstream markets. Stay tuned for further updates on her project.

What's New?!

Over the past month I've been busy with a new video project for my single "Paralyzed". There's still a couple scenes to shoot still but things are looking really good so far. The male lead is played by Nathan Wedderburn who also played my "boyfriend" in my "Get Me Thru" music video.

Of course there's always new music. Recently I released my latest exclusive "Hot Water" which is a twisted story about a husband who murders his wife and lover after he finds out about the affair and love child. This track was produced by Foley who is a very talented producer. His work will also be included on my sophomore album Dose 2.
